The Role You Will Play: Controls Technician
  • Maintain manufacturing equipment (Robotic Trumpf Lasers, Robotic Weld Cells & Robotic Hot Forming Presses)
  • Support all preventative maintenance programs within the automotive environment
  • Troubleshoot and repair various types of electrical controls, drives, communications, plant power, wiring, circuits, robot paths and etc
  • Use laptop and various software programs and network interfaces to communicate with equipment
  • Ability to make programming changes to PLC, HMI & robots
  • Assist technical services in machine repair, change over, set up and operation as required
  • Perform all preventative maintenance requirements as scheduled
  • Have mechanical aptitude that compliments electrical capabilities
  • Ability to schedule time, materials and equipment required to perform tasks, and to properly use and complete required documentation
  • Assist in keeping a spare parts inventory
Background Profile: Controls Technician
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of electrical training or Journeyman’s certification a plus
  • 5 years of Automotive Environment experience preferred
  • Required: minimum 5+ years’ hands-on experience in robotic programming including:
    • Allen Bradley & Siemens PLC’s with step 7 programing
    • RS Logix – 500 & 5000
    • HMI – Mitsubishi
    • Cognix
    • Keyence Vision Systems
  • Knowledgeable of Fanuc and Kuka robots
  • Familiar with EtherNet/IP, Profibus, and DeviceNet
  • Experience with MIG, resistance, & HFI Welding
  • Knowledgeable of Allen Bradley Power Flex, Indramat, Ormec or Quantum III Drives
