The Role You Will Play: Sr. Electronics Engineer

PPV (Cost Savings) Engineering Project Activities (40%) • Develop and define scope of design changes needed to drive conceptual supplier transitions into captured cost savings projects. • Identify and fill the project cost savings funnel for the Electronics and Electromechanical Commodity • Modify or re-create design documentation to ensure future transitions can launch with little impact around processes/procedures and all other applicable prints that would inhibit a new supplier to not quote a project or delay the timeline for savings. • Utilize knowledge of electronics/systems, PCB layout, and component and assembly designs to define design concepts around PCBA testing requirements. • Review plans with internal/external subject matter expertise to validate strategic plans as needed. • Manage and coordinate implementation of new supplier First Article units thru closure and delivery of approved design change documentation (Design change plans, design inputs/outputs, verification strategies and protocols, Design Reviews, Engineering Drawings and specifications, and Change Orders.) • Manage overall project planning and schedules tied to technical deliverables, provide technical coordination and communication with suppliers, POD team, and operations to insure transfer of design into manufacturing and supply chain. End of Life/New Product Launch/Product Transitions (60%) • Responsible for completing all like-for-like replacement components or designing out all end of life components related to the electronic/electromechanical commodity prior to impacting the production lines. • Supporting new product development to guide and assist in working with the new strategic suppliers within the commodity. • Working with POD lead to create strategic plans on supplier transitions for all sustaining products transitioning into the Indianapolis manufacturing facility. • Provide disposition of non-conforming material thru the MRB processes and provide support in the resolution of supplier issues including interfacing with PCB and other electronic assembly suppliers as needed in conjunction with supplier quality around all newly launched transition projects. • Update and maintain product documentation BOM’s, drawings, and specifications as needed using the Indy documentation control process. Background Profile: Sr. Electronics Engineer

Qualifications and Experience: - The education requirement is a Bachelor´s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field - 2 - 4 years of experience in a related job area is required - Candidate will have strong electrical engineering best practices and knowledge, with demonstrated ability to adhere to the rigorous lifecycle and documentation of requirements - The position is located in Indianapolis, IN - The Senior Electronic Engineer defines and evaluates architectures in area of expertise for system modules and components of multi-functional systems - The incumbent designs circuit boards and sub-systems of limited to moderate scope using CAD/CAE tools; plans and conducts tests to verify theoretical analysis; performs empirical analysis, interpreting and evaluating experimental data to formulate conclusions; documents and communicates designs, specifications and project status; fabricates breadboards and prototypes; develops test plans, test specifications and design verification experiments; troubleshoots and analyzes complex electronic assemblies down to the individual components; and participates on multi-functional development teams - It is required for the candidate to have excellent oral and written communication skills - A high level of aptitude for Technical Writing and following engineering procedures is a must - The candidate will be expected to work with the local manufacturing facility to troubleshoot current problems in manufacturing. Also, the candidate will be expected to work with the Field Support Engineers to troubleshoot and analyze problems from the field - It is preferred the candidate has experience in an FDA environment but not required - It is preferred the candidate has experience in disciplined problem solving using tools such as Fault Tree Analysis, the industry standard 8D process, or the A3 method - It is preferred the candidate has some firmware and software experience for embedded microprocessor-based systems - The candidate will be expected to sometimes work simultaneous projects, small consecutive projects, and sometimes larger long-term projects - The candidate will work with the new product development team to understand legacy products - Overall, it is required to have good job management skills
