The Role You Will Play: Recycling Department Manager 
  • Build a culture of Safety First
  • Work with operators and the quality department to ensure product quality meets Company standards
  • Manage the Sort, Grind, Wash, and Solid State Polycondensation equipment to exceed production expectations
  • Manage activities across all shifts through four shift-lead direct reports
  • Manage all employees in responsibility(s) and conduct/coordinate the necessary training for both individual associates and the team
  • Implement and enforce established policy and strategy
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of production data.
  • Lead all continuous improvement efforts and manage the efforts of operating teams in the efficient conversion of materials into quality products in a safe, secure and sanitary manner
  • Recommend and implement changes in methods, equipment, systems and organization, as needed, to assure that the objectives of the area are met.
  • Manage associate relations issues and guide and direct the hiring, training, retraining, development and motivation of Operations associates following self-managed, team working principles with a minimum degree of guidance from the Director of Manufacturing. 
  • With the general guidance of the Director of Manufacturing and through Operations teams, establish line performance standards and goals, and measure, control, take corrective action and report results as appropriate.
  • Under the general guidance of the Chief Engineer, the Recycling Department Manager, and along with the Manufacturing Department Manager, utilize the technical resources on each shift for the preventive maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of process/packaging equipment problems to achieve desired performance levels.
  • Ensure that open communications are established and that opportunities to broaden the scope and responsibility of Operations teams/associates are undertaken.
  • Participate with the Chief Engineer in the implementation of improvement strategies that will help the line/area perform more effectively in the near term.
  • With the Director of Manufacturing and the Director of Human Resources evaluate associate performance and develop, in conjunction with associate's plans, to challenge their potential.
Background Profile: Recycling Department Manager 
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in Engineering or similar business-related disciplines
  • 5 years’ experience in high-paced production environment.
  • 3 years’ experience in supervisory or managerial role
  • Demonstrated experience working in Safety and in Quality
  • Understanding of major functions within the plant, Good Manufacturing Practices, sanitation practices and procedures, and the ability to work directly with all levels and functions
  • Experience with high-speed optical sorters, polymer production, and food/beverage packaging a plus
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus
