The Role You Will Play: Senior Manager, Quality Control 
  • Responsible for all aspects of quality control at the Vernon plant.
  • Lead the Quality function including Polymer/Container Identification, Plastics Training, NIR Sorter Validation, Supplier Quality, In-Process Quality, New Product Specification Validation, Product Testing, Final Inspection and Customer Service. 
  • Identify and develop the Quality team structure.
  • Ensure that quality strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Oversee the day to day quality control operations, manage the production QC laboratory and the scheduling of QC Technicians.
  • Ensure customer quality issues and non-conformances are resolved in a timely manner taking the lead for the mitigation actions with other functions in the organization such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Marketing, and Procurement.
  • Identify and pro-actively lead continuous improvement actions to prevent non-conformances working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure strong communication with other functions in the organization, facilitate exchange of information to implement change and improvements regarding quality.
  • Establish Quality Performance data and Key Performance Indicators, report on Quality activities on a regular basis to the Management team.
  • Create, collect, analyze, and report quality control on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis to both the Plant Director, Chief Engineer and copy to the Leadership Team.
  • Develop, write, and control all quality control documentation and policy related to work instruction, procedures, or any other documentation related to quality
  • Work closely with the plant director/chief engineer to investigate and report any quality related issues at the plant and develop corrective and preventative actions, along with developing new testing procedures, complete all necessary documentation.
  • Utilize various computer applications to compile, record and report test results
  • Performing rechecks, investigating complaints or problems and coordinating with the Plant Director/Chief Engineer on departmental quality issues.
  • Conducting chemical analyses and/or use independent labs to characterize the materials
  • Oversee the procedures relating to the accurate labeling of waste shipments.
Background Profile: Senior Manager, Quality Control 
  • Over 5 years quality management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial)
  • Proven leadership/management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development
  • Ability to create a culture which promotes a team environment
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Impeccable communication, presentation, interpersonal, and influencing skills with a hands-on approach and a “can do” attitude
