The Role You Will Play: Mechanical Engineer
  • Responsible for investigating issues of mechanical nature and by designing components and systems modules of limited to moderate scope using mechanical design CAD tools
  • Conducting theoretical and empirical mechanical analysis
  • Interpreting experimental results and formulating conclusions
  • Documenting and communicating designs and test results
  • Developing test specifications and design verification experiments
  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
  • Provides quality assurance for adherence to technical standards
  • Define and evaluate designs for operating system modules and components of mechanical engineering systems
  • Communicate and provide input for project status and project schedule updates
  • Document efforts via established procedures using CAD systems
  • Support transfer of technical documentation (drawings, specifications) into revision control system including creating and assembling COR's (Change Order Requests)
  • Participate on cross-functional teams working hand-in-hand with logistics team
  • Investigate thru hands on failure analysis, design review, simulations, and structured problem solving to identify root cause of customer field failures
  • Develop and define design changes needed to resolve root cause of failures thru analysis, simulations, and/or fabrication of physical prototypes
  • Perform DFMEA, perform design review/simulation analysis, and identify critical design factors and risks that impact customer needs and regulatory requirements
  • Review designs with internal/external subject matter expertise to validate conceptual design as needed
 
Background Profile: Mechanical Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-2 years’ experience with high mechanical aptitude and organization
  • Self-starter, sense of urgency to resolve issues and complete projects
  • Work well with others, coordinate efforts with own and other departments
  • Innovative “out of the box” thinker that gets things done
  • Overcomes potential stumbling blocks to achieve objectives
