THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
• Coordinate the design, set-up, and planting of Seed Production Research (SPR) trials at all required locations domestically or shipping to international locations.
• Perform seed lab work including trial setup, field mapping, planting preparation, seed cleaning, and labeling.
• Perform fieldwork including planting, staking, pollination, data acquisition and seed harvest.
• Process seed from field studies.
• Assist in managing seed inventories in order to conduct required experiments.
• Manage data from experiments which includes acquisition, analysis support, summarize, and report.
• Communicate with offsite project leaders and research and development collaborators to define projects and provide support.
• Support winter trial activities.
• Supervise seasonal employees.
• Assist with lab seed treatment applications and related field trial plantings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• BS/BA degree preferred
• Two (2) to four (4) years comparable experience in an agriculture field preferred.

CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
• Valid Driver's License
• Bilingual in English & Spanish beneficial
• Possess or have the ability to acquire a CDL

PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Ability to work days, evenings and weekends
• Must be able to travel by car or plane
• Ability to walk fields in all weather conditions
• Ability to operate standard office equipment including phone, fax, copier and computer
• Capable of working in high or low temperature conditions in field or greenhouse
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds

WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Field, greenhouse, laboratory, office
• Domestic travel potential with occasional overnight stays
• Potential allergens¾pollen, fungal spores, chemical pesticides in the field or greenhouse
• 60% of work performed in field locations / 40% in the lab

OTHER:
• Must have a valid driver’s license
